Modern Water appoints Business Development Director
01 August 2007Modern Water plc (“Modern Water” or “the Group”) today announces the appointment of Roger Webster as Business Development Director, a role which will focus on the deployment, licensing and selling of the Group’s technology.
Roger joins from Biwater Plc where he gained extensive international experience in Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and most recently Africa where he was Managing Director of the South African businesses. He has a wide range of project management and business development experience within the water utilities sector, and these will be fundamental to the new position.
Roger will help Modern Water implement its growth strategy which focuses on the exploitation of water related technologies to meet the growing world-wide demand for the economic availability of fresh water and treatment of waste water.

- Modern Water listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM market in June 2007 having raised £30m.
- The Group was established to build and exploit a portfolio of water technologies to address problems of the availability of freshwater and the treatment and disposal of wastewater.
- The Group is initially concentrating on two distinct approaches to the water market being: (i) desalination; and (ii) the substitution of fresh water with sea water or recycled water for certain non-potable uses.
