Process Engineer

This is a great opportunity to join a growing dynamic organisation and to be at the cutting edge in the development of water and wastewater treatment. Modern Water is dedicated to bringing innovation in water treatment and has a number of new and exciting technologies currently being developed and introduced into selected international markets.

The successful applicant will join a small team of engineers working on the design, procurement, commissioning and operation of new water treatment facilities. The initial focus is likely to be on desalination projects using Modern Water’s patented membrane technologies, but may also involve preparing and carrying out site-based pilot trials of new processes. The role will involve work within a range of engineering disciplines, including mechanical design, process design, project engineering, commissioning and plant operations.

The Individual we are looking for:

Holds a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Class 2.1 or above.
Has a minimum of 2 years post graduation work experience, preferably in a process design or project delivery environment.
May be familiar with some of the following: P&IDs, process instrumentation (e.g. on-line conductivity meters, pressure transmitters etc), membrane processes, PLCs, and specification documents.
Is confident, articulate and keen to develop.
Has a high level of motivation, good interpersonal skills and a flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
Is computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Is practical and can adopt a “hands-on” approach to solving problems when required.
Is likely to be working towards registration as a Chartered Engineer
Is prepared for international travel. Although the role will be based at our head office in Guildford, it is likely that the successful applicant will spend short periods at one of our international sites or offices.
